Booking a Green Fire Gig
Green Fire is a membership supported collective of musicians and music lovers. We can seat over sixty audience members comfortably with room for more standing. Our goal is to present the finest music in an up close and personal "living room like" setting. Many musicians have commented that playing where the audience is really listening is very enjoyable. That's Green Fire.
If you are interested in playing at Green Fire, there are a few things you should know. Promotional CD's and/or press kits should be sent three months in advance. Really, all we need is a CD and a one page bio. From that we can decide if an act will work at our venue or not. Send materials to:

Give us a few weeks to listen to your CD and then give us a call. Unless you can be sure to bring at least twenty people through the door, we may suggest opening with a local act to help increase audience size. Since most of the ticket sale income goes to the artist we need to make sure we book acts that will fill the seats.
PLEASE NOTE: Green Fire produces shows on the first and third Fridays of each month except December. Load in is at 6pm, the doors open at 7, and the show starts at 7:30. Green Fire shows run 2 to 2 1/2 hours, and are staffed by volunteers. We don't want to keep the help late when they may have to work the next day. |
The musicians receive 60% of the door. Ticket prices are negotiable, and usually run between $5 and $10. We make payment at the completion of the show. Tip jars are fine.
Normally, Green Fire does not provide a PA. Exceptions can be made when circumstances warrant. Feel free to inquire. House PA
NOTE ABOUT SHOWCASES: One show per month is usually a showcase of two different acts, each doing one set. These acts are solos or duos. The acts split the artists portion of the door (60%). It is important for the showcases to run smoothly that each act's setup be as simple as possible. Please email if you have any questions about a showcase. We provide the PA for the showcases. |
If you would like, we can set up a table and have a volunteer handle or help with CD and other merchandise sales. For this service we charge $1 per piece. If you do your own sales, you keep 100%.
Green Fire will submit show information to the free listings in the local paid newspaper (the Arizona Daily Star) and to the weekly free publication (the Tucson Weekly). Unfortunately, there are no guarantees that submitted items will appear in press.
Green Fire will also alert the more than 500 people on our email list and display promotional material in our store.
The artist supplies all other publicity. KXCI does a "Live at Five" segment on weekdays that is excellent. They are also very good at playing music off CD's from artists passing through town. They are an excellent publicity source.
There is plenty of space for tuning and warm up, and for storage of equipment cases and such. There is a door just off the stage area that provides easy load in and load out on the night of the show.
About the Lodge on Dodge The FOP Lodge is located at 3445 N. Dodge Blvd. on the west side of the road just north of Dah Rock Shop and Charlie's. There is ample parking in front and on the side of the building. The FOP has a bar with soda, beer, wine, and mixed drinks. |
Those are the basics. If you are coming from out of town, you should not consider Greenfire an "anchor" gig.
